What is The Soaring Twenties Social Club?
The home of the 2020’s artistic renaissance.
The place where aspiring writers, poets, painters, filmmakers, photographers and creatives transform from wannabes into the real thing.
An exclusive online community where fun, authenticity, beauty, humour and creativity flourishes away from metrics, anger, division and dopamine hits.
Why The Social Club was created
The internet has changed. It was once a place of creativity, fun and communication between curious and like-minded souls. And then the corporations arrived. 1
I don’t like what the online world has become- top down, bland, homogenous, intentionally addictive, strewn with ads and clickbait, angry, depressed and depressing, and above all boring.
This is no environment in which art and true human expression can thrive.
I believe this is a large part of the reason that so much of art and culture is uninspiring and dull today. Because the environment encourages this.
I also believe that this is why so many creatives constantly procrastinate or else they have periods of ignoring their instincts and their hearts and make content for the algorithm before soon burning out and giving in.
I have seen this time and again. I have experienced it myself.
And so I knew I had to do something about it.
I had to create a space where this dynamic could be changed.
We are told that art is a lonely pursuit but in truth it’s a team sport. Creators have always gathered in bars and coffee shops and salons to debate and discuss and philosophise and to offer each other feedback and encouragement and advice. From Renaissance Italy, to 18th Century London to the Parisian South Bank of the 1920’s it has always been this way.
But there is no space online that fulfils this same role.
Who The Soaring Twenties Social Club is for
The Social Club is not for everyone. Literally. First of all it is limited to 300 places so that it maintains the collaborative bar atmosphere and so that people can get to know each other outside of being merely one of thousands of names and avatars.
But more than that it is designed to resonate with people who want more from their art and from themselves.
It is for bohemians, idlers, beauty-seekers, poets, comedians, musicians, flaneurs.
It is for people who want their attention span back and who want to read real books, create real art, have real conversations and make real friends with real people who feel the same way.
We have people from all over the world in the Soaring Twenties Social Club, of all ages, occupations, experiences, and from all walks of life.
But they all share one commonality.
They all want to get more out of their online and offline lives. They all want richer experiences.
If this sounds like you, then you might be in the right place.2
How Does It Work?
The process goes like this:
You sign up for $8 a month and get emailed an exclusive link to the Soaring Twenties Social Club community.
You click on it.
You enter the Discord and people say hello. You lurk for a while and choose roles for certain channels based on your interests and hobbies- the movies, book, music, food, health, games and tech channels are all very active and filled with great conversations daily.
You introduce yourself and people start chatting with you.
And then the real fun begins, as Zack explains:
As you become a part of the community and start creating you are welcomed to join in with the Omnibus- a weekly Substack where we all share our work to our collective public.
We all grow and improve and master our respective crafts together.
And we all have a great time along the way.
‘There’s nowhere else like it.’
What The Social Club Members Have To Say
To create the single greatest place on the internet and to help people to create and excel artistically is the vision behind all of this.
A 21st century literary salon. A writers cafe. A bohemian hang-out where everybody knows your name.
Over at the Soaring Twenties Social Club bar here is what some of the regulars have to say about the place:
‘Join if you want to surprise yourself with what you can create.’
‘I have not only started writing but finally found a place on the internet I can spend time on and feel happy at the same time, a place full of smart and talented individuals.’
‘The STSC has been exactly what I wanted: a Shakespeare and Company-esque environment that I have craved since the first time I heard about the Lost Generation and Paris.’
‘Joining the STSC truly is like finding an oasis of art in a desert of content.’
‘The support, encouragement, and critical feedback on my work has been overwhelming… a hive of great minds and fantastic people.’
‘I came to chat about books, found a calling to writing myself, and made some real, close friends in the process. Even if you’re not creating anything, the energy is the best thing going online. I can’t praise it enough.’
